Canvas FAQs
WHAT MATERIALS DO YOU USE AND HOW LONG WILL MY PRINT LAST?
We use 100% cotton canvas for our prints and this is complemented by HP colour and lightfast inks, which are guaranteed fade resistant for a minimum of 75 years. This is then coated with a matt protection designed to prevent water damage or scuff marks.
Each bar features a rounded back edge which is designed to ensure that the canvas is always kept a full 1/2″ above the stretcher bar to ensure that there can be no ghost impressions on the canvas.
WHAT IS GALLERY WRAPPING?
Gallery wrapping is the process that the finished print goes through in order to mount it onto the frame. The canvas is gently stretched by hand on all four sides and wrapped around the edges. Each corner is then carefully folded and tucked in to ensure that there are no unsightly edges.
Then, the canvas is fixed to the back of the frame all the way round and finished off neatly to hide all of the fixings. Finally stretching wedges are placed into all four corners to ensure the canvas is a tight as possible on the frame.
